Organizing Your First Garden Bird Feeder

Find the three factors that will draw large numbers of birds to your garden bird feeder. The way to start-up a bird-friendly home in your back yard is to give wild birds shelter, food and water.

Place a garden bird feeder next to trees, shrubs and bushes. Birds want a secure landing place to protect them from their predators. They will use the trees and shrubs here to offer a secure home for nesting. The trees and shrubs will also provide the needed objects for building the nests.

The second thing to provide for the birds that you want to entice to your garden bird feeder is food. You could plant fruit, berry or seed producing trees and brush. Flowers in the area will supply nectar and seeds for the birds.

Water is the last important component that you should supply to the birds. A good water source is a bird bath or bird bath fountain in your garden bird feeder habitat.

You will be repaid by observing pretty birds at your garden bird feeder.
